The
Wiregrass HOG Chapter meets on the third Saturday of every month at
5:00 in the HOG room upstairs at Harley-Davidson/Buell of Dothan with
dinner following. There are door prizes, 50/50 drawing and a
member attendance drawing.
Important: These rides are Wiregrass H.O.G. CLOSED
events. They are at the sole discretion of the riders!
Wednesday Night Dinner Ride
The restaurant for the weekly Wednesday dinner ride will not be scheduled
until the weather warms. During the winter most members that attend
drive their cars due to the weather. In light of this, the brave
one that rides his/her bike decides which restaurant it is for the night.
If there are no riders on their bikes, the group then decides. Please
make plans to attend on these dinner rides. It is fun, filling
and a lot of good conversation is exchanged.
Saturday Morning "Decide Ride"
The Saturday morning "Decide Ride" still continues throughout
the winter months, weather permitting. If the weather is bad we
still meet for coffee and donuts, graciously supplied by Harley-Davidson/Buell
of Dothan, and just visit with friends. Remember, those that ride
decide where we go. If you want to give it a try, the group is
usually there by 9:30 am and then decides where to go by 10:00 a.m.

We
are together to RIDE AND HAVE FUN, but there is some other business
that needs to take place in order for that to happen. It does
not have to be cumbersome and we will do everything we can to make it
easy so we can all ride and have fun.
There
are three classifications of events: Closed, Member Only and
Open. Closed events are for local chapter members and
a guest. Member only is for local chapter members only.
Open events are open to local chapter members, national HOG members
and guests as desired.
As
a member of the local Wiregrass Chapter, you have signed a release of
liability. HOG requires that all of the chapters maintain Liability
Insurance and part of the insurance requires us to have members and
guests sign releases. In order to maintain our insurance
all of our rides need to be CLOSED events, to include dinner rides,
Saturday rides, weekend trips, etc. These events will allow for
guests to participate, however, they must sign a release prior to the
ride and there has to be more members than guests on that ride.
There is a special exception to minors, please contact myself or Sara
Holland for information on how minors’ releases will be handled.
Duration
of the ride/coverage will start at the riders briefing and end at the
stated destination. For example, on the dinner rides, the ride
starts at the rider’s meeting and ends at the restaurant destination.
For weekend trips, the ride starts at the rider’s briefing and ends
at the hotel destination. The ride will resume the next day at
the rider’s meeting and continue through to the next destination.
Harley
Owners Group has an alcohol/drug policy that prevents anyone from riding
with the group that is under the influence during the duration of the
Chapter Ride as defined previously in what is considered the Chapter
Ride.
These
changes really only affect guests. If you are a Wiregrass Chapter
member, then just show up, RIDE and HAVE FUN!!
